WAY BACK WEDNESDAY!
For this week’s Way Back Wednesday, we share another beauty from the year 1980! With a Danny Gibson win!
A perfect image to share from our NHRC museum’s archives. As well as a great story by Danny Gibson, shared in last week’s #wbw.
Our racing image shows PASS THE CASH (drawn barrier 2) winning the Jim de Courcy Novice Handicap at Newcastle Paceway in August 1980. At the time, Pass The Cash’s trainer was Peter Witcom and driven here by Danny Gibson. Thank you to Peter Witcom for sharing this image with us!
As mentioned, on last week's #wbw post, Danny Gibson shared an amazing true short story about what got Danny "hooked" on Harness Racing, which included memories of his father Brian. Brian was a former Newcastle Harness Racing Club President of the mid-eighties.
For those who missed it, here’s Danny’s story, re-shared from last week.
What a great time in Harness Racing! A fitting question for the week… what got you hooked on Harness Racing? Please feel free to share in the comments below
