LOCATION: The Newcastle Paceway is centrally located at Broadmeadow at the Newcastle International Sports Centre, behind Hunter Stadium. The venue offers 4 fabulous function facilities for a wide variety of events.

WESTBURN GRANT FUNCTION ROOM: Located at the northern end of the venue having a capacity of 350 seated guests. Fully enclosed (glass) and air conditioned. Full audio/presentation equipment. Toilets located to the rear while bar facilities are adjacent to the entry. For theatre style functions up to 600 seated guests. Disable access. Ideal for following functions: weddings, conferences, meetings, training, exhibitions, trade shows, birthday parties (all ages), presentation functions. Hire Fee: Free for a limited time

PACERS RESTAURANT: Ideally located adjacent to the winning post this room offers panoramic views of the venue, in particular the race track. Fully enclosed and air conditioned seating can be restricted to just one level (up to 100) or spread across the four tiers (250 – 300). Toilets located at northern end of room on top level. Bar facilities also located at the northern end of room on top level. Disable access by elevator. Ideal for following function: weddings, farewells, engagement parties, birthday parties, breakfasts, luncheons.

VIP FUNCTION ROOM: This room offers smaller groups a function facility of a private nature with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Located on the level below Pacers Restaurant offering all the benefits Pacers Restaurant offers on a smaller scale. Private bar facilities. Toilets located adjacent to room. 80 seated guests. Disable access by elevator. Ideal for small birthday parties, retirement functions, engagement parties, staff conferences, meetings.

ROSS GIGG LOUNGE & BAR: Located on the ground floor of the building opposite to the winning post offering a casual atmosphere. Fully enclosed and air conditioned. Seating is at bar stools and bar tables allowing for easy mingling Toilets located at rear of the room. Bar located at centre rear of the room. Disable access. Ideal for following functions: cocktail parties or networking functions, televised sports viewing.

OUTDOOR AREA: The Newcastle Paceway offers approximately 10,000 square metres for select events and approximately 1,000 square metres under cover with lights, power, catering and toilet facilities. With ample off street parking and oodles of open space the Paceway offers that little bit extra to make your exhibition, trade show or product display the outstanding success you seek.

PARKING: Complimentary parking is available on non-race days to all guests, accessible from Broadmeadow Road, through the Jackson Street entrance or via Turton Road into the northern Hunter Stadium car park (on request and pending Hunter Stadium events).

CATERING: The quality catering is prepared on the premises by our professional chefs. Only the freshest of ingredients are used. As well as the carefully designed menus, we offer you the advice and attention of our multi award winning Executive Chef Peter Keizer to create a menu which suits your particular needs. With 35 years of experience the Australian renowned internationally trained Chef Keizer will create the gastronomic experience you desire. Chef Keizer will assist you in planning and selecting your culinary needs.

MENUS: The club prepares a varied range of menus to suit all occasions or customers may make alterations or put together their own. The prices quoted are for a minimum of 50 persons, for numbers less than this a price will be available on enquiry. Children between 5 & 12 years are charged half price, under 5 years there is no charge. Catering, if required for musicians, photographers & video persons will be charged at half price up to four persons maximum.

DEPOSIT: Once your booking is confirmed a $200.00 deposit is required within 7 days. This will be deducted from your account.

CANCELLATION: If your function is cancelled you must contact the Club immediately. If the cancellation is more than 21 days from the event your deposit will be refunded. If less than 21 days’ notice no refund will be made.

BAR ARRANGEMENTS: All drinks are handled by the Newcastle Harness Racing Club and will be charged on a consumption basis. A drinks prices list is available. A cash bar where guests purchase their own drinks is also available. With prior arrangement with the management a ‘dry till’ can be established.

FINAL ARRANGEMENTS: Final arrangements concerning menu and bar selections should be made no later than 2 weeks prior to the function. Final numbers for catering should be given 48 hours in advance and this will be the number used for billing purposes. The full account should be paid prior to or on the day of the function in the form of cash, a bank cheque or credit card {bankcard, master card, visa}. DISABILITY ACCESS: The Newcastle Paceway is accessible to the disabled.

SET UP: Depending on bookings, the room will be available the day prior to your function for any additional settings you may wish to include, or from early morning on the day of the function. Please check with our office. A dance floor can be hired, or a carpeted area can be set aside, for dancing.

ORGANISERS: Please note that organisers are financially responsible for any damage sustained to the property during functions.

BOND: A $400.00 bond will apply to all bookings and refunded following your function after inspection of the premises.

SECURITY: Security is a requirement at some functions. Cost of Security will be the responsibility of the function organiser/holder and NHRC recommended security company must be used.
